Volcanism in Southern Italy

VOLCANISM IN SOUTHERN ITALY

Land of fires and gods, southern Italy has been subjected to natural manifestations of earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, bradysis and sulphurous vapors since the dawn of time. Phenomena which were interpreted as signs of the gods in antiquity and which aroused the imagination of writers such as Virgil with his Aeneid. Other authors or reasoned men have tried to provide scientific answers to these natural manifestations such as Pliny the Elder, the geographer Strabo, Empedocles ... This discovery of volcanism and other interventions of nature are a confrontation between literature, myths and sciences which have changed the daily life of the inhabitants. This stay is also an escape to exceptional landscapes through the exploration of Campania and its Phlegraean Fields, the Aeolian Islands with the mythical Stromboli, and the land of Sicily. From Campania to Sicily via the Aeolian Islands, discover this wonderful journey. Stay 10 days / 9 nights.
